I was at this race and was on the other side of the track so I couldn’t see it up close. The Car of Tomorrow really saved Jeff Gordon from getting hurt.
Every time I watch this wreck I am amazed that he was not hurt badly. He said he was sore but that is a blessing compared to what if. They really need to put safer barriers wherever the car can go and not just the outside walls.
I am not sure I ever saw anything like this without it being in a race. Heck I don’t think I ever saw anything this bad.
Yes he did get out of the car and even waved to the fans. The good folks at Nascar have to be proud of the way all the safety equipment and the tracks safer walls performed. I am thinking that Michael is glad he is in the new car of tomorrow, which was built with drivers safety in mind.
Tony Stewart did not have a good race in Las Vegas. He crashed early and had a DNF (Did Not Finish for the newbies). He blew a front tire right in front of my seats and hit the wall hard. It took a few minutes to get Tony out of the car as he hurt his foot in the crash. Really is a good thing they put in the safer barriers or he would have been really hurt.
