To be honest I wasn’t really convinced one way or the other if this is a good move for NASCAR or not. One one hand she will get National media for a sport that I believe needs it right now. On the other hand you have the die-hard fans that will never root for a female driver. All I know is NASCAR needs something to get this sport to the top, if that is having a good looking female join the ranks I am for it.
As you guys know I am based in New York city and NASCAR does not get any exposure here at all. We get a 1/4 of the last page in the NY Times section on Monday and that’s about it. We don’t have a home track, and there is certainly no such thing as a NASCAR race being broadcast on the radio. The sports station here is all filled with football and baseball. If having Danica present in the sport helps that then I am all for it.
Do I think she is capable of switching from Indy cars to Stock cars? That would be a big no. It will take some time to adjust and she may become a good driver but we still don’t know how good she was at driving Indy cars. It has taken Juan Pablo 3 years and he has only Won 1 race. Sam Hornish won a bunch of championships and he hasn’t done anything at all but crash every week in NASCAR.
I am taking a wait and see approach, I am just glad she signed somewhere and the speculation is over, that was getting tired quickly. What are your thoughts?

I was amazed to find out that Danica Patrick is only 27 years old… she’ll probably do fine as a Nascar Driver
